Walbro Fuel pump help!!!!!!!
Walbro Fuel pump help!!!!!!!
Hey guys,
I was installing my new Walbro fuel pump when I got to the part where you are supposed to put the black retainer piece that goes on top of the whole assembly to hold it down. As I was torquing down one of the nuts it somehow got stripped and we couldn't get it off the stud. We went to go put another bolt on top of the stripped one just to hold it down temporarily and as we were tightening it down just hand tight the stud broke in half. I was wondering if I could leave it as is, and have the rest torqued down or if maybe I could put some sealant to keep it from leaking, and if so what kind, or do I have to take it into Mitsubishi and get it fixed (get a new tank?).
Attached are pictures of the stud and nut.
Thanks a lot
Gonzalo

There is a good chance that it may leak so I would keep a close eye on it. The less gas in your tank the less chance of it leaking. The more aggressive you are driving the less gas I would keep in it.
