EXHAUST!!!! questions

hello, i just joined this forum not to long ago, and i just got my EVO 8 MR like 3 weeks ago, and i was looking to upgrade my car, and i was wondering what is the best DEAP sound exhaust for my evo and not a RICER "weedwaker" sound, i have asked a lot of people about it and i have got some ideas but i was just wondering if you guys could give me some help, on that and a good Intake to get for the most airflow. i have heard about many intake systems but i would like to kbnow whats the best intake for my car...

thankss....

i'd recommend my Espelir Exhaust anyday, it sounds great, excellent quality, and is pretty affordable too..you can get them thru vividracing.com Also check out JIC, not so cheap but i'd say its one of the best systems made for the evo, especially the full titanium catback..i'm not too big on intakes for the evo, I don't think they do much for the stock turbo

I've searched and talked to a number of owners who were running exhausts I was interested in. I really really want a quiet exhaust, not much louder than stock and NO DRONING on the highway. And if it costs less than $400 and comes in stainless, all the better!

Of course such an exhaust doesn't exist although the Invidia cat-back is getting seemingly good reviews. Looks loud. I'm actually sitting here waiting on Racing Zone in Tampa to install an HKS Hi-Power. Pretty darn quiet and it makes good power according to TPR. For me, it comes down to cost, weight and of course decibles. I came close to pulling the trigger on a Fujitsubo today from another semi-local vendor who was having a special on the RMA-01. In the end, I couldn't justify the extra $250 in cost over the HKS. For that money, I can start to look at the quiet semi-Ti exhausts. Based on my research, I narrowed my choices down to the following:
Espelir
JIC Spartan DE1 (stainless)
JIC Spartan DE2 (stainless)
HKS Hi-Power and Carbon Ti (same flow and sound just different materials)
Fujitsubo
Apex-i N1

I considered both the SP and Evo Greddy exhausts but both, IMHO, are fairly ugly. If cost were no object, it'd be the JIC Spartan DE2, full titanium.

In the end I went with the HKS because installed it was less expensive than the least expensive JIC, it's quiet, fits very well, and makes power. I'm also supporting a local shop and I don't have to wait a week for a large box to arrive (and have to explain to the wife what it is!).

TurboMR, search for "invidia sound". There is a nice sound clip of the Invidia N1 exhaust in there. I think that's the route I'm going.
