Exclamation CONFUSED PSI Qs!!

been searching, everyone is setting 20-22 psi as normal. for us in CA!! only get 91 octane, but stock is already boosting 19 psi!! but i read, if pumping 91 octane don't go higher than 19psi....is that some BS people?? cuz i mean for stock car, if 19 psi is the boarder line, they wouldn's set it at that obviously right... and i got dynoflash, that already raised the boost a little too. so after the tune what can i set it at for safety? leave it at 21psi? just wanna clarify that 21 psi is ok...for safety....PLEASE ADVICE!!

If the ecu is pulling timing to avoid detontation, you'll be just fine

The computer will retard the spark automaticaly when it senses pre-ignition (knock). This will allow high boost and not blow it up.

so you guys mean that after the tune or flash, the computer will automatically adjusted for higher boost? when i dynoflashed, i never knew which one i got, i thought all of them are the same, and at the time i didn't have the boost gauge, so that's the exact question i want to find out, very good question slowcar, can anyone tell us that info??????

No, it doesn't matter if you have a flash. The ECU automatically retards timing if it sees knock, which is what happens when you run too much boost on low octane. The result of this is that it protects your engine, but it also saps a LOT of power, which is bad.

You said your boost got raised by the flash, but you don't have a boost gauge. You should know if you got a boost-controlling flash or not. They are not all the same, so either you bought a regular flash or a boost-controlling flash. Which one was it?

I wouldn't try running more the 19 on **** poor 91. With the ECU pulling timing, you'll end up making less power.

A logging device. Before you ask what that is, do a search on "logging device" or "pocketlogger"

so the worst that can do is pull timing and not damage the engine in anyway right?
