recommended clutch???

I have 300 hp and 303ft lb tq @ flywheel on my Evo, Pretty much near stock. Question is .............would it be recommended to have a exedy twin cerametallic or a exedy hyper single carbon disk for my Evo? I have plans to go near 400lb ft of torque @flywheel. What do you guys think? Intelligent answers only please....

Then go ask Al. You think he has time to read every, single post on EvoM?

You need to not refer to HP at the flywheel anymore, either, because you can't measure that without taking the engine out of the car. Whatever you THINK you have at the flywheel is just a guess, so only use wheel horsepower, which you get from a dyno.

I would go with the Twin Disc Exedy if you want to go above 400 torque and don't mind plate rattle and a slight decrease in driveability. The benefits of this clutch far outweigh the negative. I have this clutch on my STi w/ 420 awhp.

Big Al is a loser, but i'd go with the ACT street disc, my clutch holds perfectly with approx. 400 @ flywheel

for theoretical purposes only please tell me anyone if, there are negative drawbacks to having a twin disk exedy on a slightly stock evo. (evo only has a works p2 flash) but I plan on having more in the future.

like i said before: the clutch plates rattle at idle, the clutch has a higher clamping force so small issues with engagement. The clutch grabs a lot quicker and harder than stock. It requires good clutch modulation to engage smoothly. Also twin and triple disc clutches have a tendency to wear unevenly, decreasing their clamping ability and increasing slipping as they wear. I believe Exedy solved this problem in the twin plate clutch they make for Cusco. That clutch looks like a great piece. If you can afford it, go with the Cusco, it will last longer. Plus it has clips to keep the plates from rattling. I love my Exedy though.

UGH!! there are no prices on any web sites for any of the cusco clutches. Does anyone know of a vendor that shows prices for a cusco twin or super single?
