I'm right where you are too man.. except I'm broke and need brake/suspension upgrades.

Just like everyone is saying.. hotside or 16G TME or 20G TME.

if your on LI, check out evo-ny.com

but also i have seen jacks car and naj jack knows his stuff. As someone said you have to get rid of that 9.8 and get a 10.5 or better. You saw steves numbers. Also if you are going to put that O2 housing in its not worth it with the 9.8. I have heard great stuff about the TME's. Also what ed was saying on the evo-ny forum, he has the on the fly switch with the utec and doesnt have to use the alcohol all the time so you wont have to worry about filling it up cause you wont be running it 100% of the time, unless u want to haha. He's got that secret 40+ hp with a flip of the switch, nothin better than that.

i think i will go w/the UTEC. There's someone selling it for a good price, i think i'll take it off his hands.

Also, if I plan on upgrading my turbo to a larger one down the road (50trim or GT30R), should I even bother w/the 10.5cm^2 housing?

Although it's debatable, I don't think the added performance from running 100% methanol is negligible, if any. If you haven't already do alot of research on alky/water injection and you'll see what I'm talking about.

But yeah, if you are trying to keep it simple and budget-minded, I vote alky kit and re-flash.
I actually completely agree with you.. Its what I plan on tuning my car with.. plus keeping a gallon jug in the trunk is alot less dangerous and pretty common to do here in the northeast during the winter.

The pump just stopped spraying. for 500$ you can get a SMC kit that so many people are using and there are no issues with. yes he had a bad batch of controllers which has now been fixed, BUT look for a new part coming out that will lower your boost if the kit fails, or stops spraying... and it should be <100$
Oh yeah, I forgot about the relay kit I put together that interrupts the boost solenoid on my car.. Prevents boosting over wastegate actuator pressure if the low light is on..

Once I move into my new house, the garage is a fully functional shop with a lift.. I can work with the local guys.. I'm going to reverse engineer the now defunct proflow karmann converter and hopefully get some kits out there..

I wish someone who has ridden in my car can chime in on it.. A few of you guys rode in my car with just the blowthrough, UTEC, TBE, Intercooler, pipes, HKS-DLI2.. Making power is all about the combination and tuning, but the fun-to-drive factor is what makes stock-ish turbo cars so great..

Well, its a margin of safety.. Some have gotten away without it, but I do know of one car that did lose a head gasket after running race gas and high boost for awhile on stock headstuds. Personally, I do have the headstuds sitting in my garage waiting to get installed when I get some time and the car is back home.
