Next Performance Mod Advice Needed!!
yea that's what i'm looking into when getting my turbo upgrade down the road... especially their 50trim kit.
However AMS has really quality products, but they're a little expensive.. but u do get what u pay for.
And i was also looking at the Buschur Racing turbo kits, they're priced pretty good, and Buschur makes quality stuff too.
To be honest, i haven't really given it much thought yet though. I'm not ready for a "turbo upgrade" yet I guess, there's still a lot I have to learn before jumping that far ahead with modding my car. Plus I don't have the money yet

I have a methanol kit on my eclipse and it has been great, my 5 gallon cell usually last about a month. If the car is tuned correctly methanol is very safe.
Im running 27psi on my stock 7bolt in my 98 gst, about 350whp.

Okay so today me and a friend of mine hit up some backroads with a lot of hills and twisties. One thing he made me realize was how fast my car spooled up which made it so much fun. That's when I guess I came to the conlusion that I dont want a much bigger turbo. I did some reading into the 20g TME, and that seems to be everything I really want. I dont' want huge horsepower numbers, but I do want to make 400whp/400lb-ft tq reliably, while staying within the turbochargers efficiency range.
I'm guessing here's what I would like to do for my next stage of mods:
- 680cc injectors
- methanol injection
- Buschur Racing 20g TME (however it's $50 cheaper on lancershop.com)
- HKS DLI-2
- UTEC tune
One more thing I came upon was Al's (dynoflash) new dual stage reflash, allowing me to run 2 maps on the stock ECU. I will wait to hear more info about this. But I think i might just stick with the UTEC, so that way I can learn to tune the car myself rather than rely on a tuner all the time.

this is true. I do have a brand new ACT street clutch in the garage waiting to go in, but I'd rather not spend the $$$ to get it installed until I really feel it start to go. Almost 25k miles, and the stocker is holding up very well
I'm also considering going with a lightweight flywheel. I see you have one (listed in ur sig), what are your opinions/comments on it?

I see the word on the Evo20G is starting to get out.. The WR is a great option also, but its happiest on Race gas or Meth injection.. The Buschur 20G seems to be able to make good power over stock on pump gas, and completely go insane on race gas. I wouldn't be surprised to see some highly tuned cars with a 20G make around 450 on a dynojet.
Jeeb, For what its worth, the selection of parts your making is similar in some ways to what I'm running on my car. I have all buschur components through stage 4, except the UTEC for engine management and 280 cams (not all these parts are installed at the moment) I have a Thermal Coated JIC Magic header & DNP O2 housing, 20G, blowthrough MAF, Buschur Alky injection, and a bunch of other stuff that I can't remember anymore.. Not sure how well the car will run, but considering how it HAS already run with much fewer parts on a stock 2003 turbo.. Well, you get the picture..
BTW I've blasted a few sub 12 second runs on the stock clutch, it should hold up for awhile, but don't expect it to last very long once your over 370whp..

Lol, well I got an ACT clutch sitting at home waiting to go in once this one goes out

As for my other mods, here's what I plan on having by the time I go to get tuned (sometime late november)
- Buschur Intake
- Buschur upper ic piping
- RnR 3" turboback
- RnR 3" o2 Housing
- HKS 272/272 cams
- HKS ssq bov
- Hallman MBC
- Custom 2.5" lower ic pipe
- TurboXS FMIC
- NGK BPR7ES Spark plugs
- Walbro 255lph fuel pump
- Forge Wastegate Actuator
- 20g TME turbo upgrade
- ported n polished oem exhaust manifold (or i might go w/a GTSPEC manifold)
- 680cc fuel injectors
- hks dli-2 ignition amplifier
- UTEC
- buschur alky kit (running 100% methanol)
- sun auto hyperground/voltage thingamajig
Is there anything else I should add in there to improve that setup that won't cost too much? or any other supporting mods?
Also, how much power do you think i'll make w/those mods on 93octane, and 93 octane + methanol?
thanks man!
