Best Top End mods???

Hey guys - I've had my 03 for awhile now, and all I've done to it is put on: a boost gauge, Ttimer, an intake, and a TBE.

I would of course like to have the best of both worlds, lots of low end grunt and a bigger blistering turbo that kicks in way up in the rpm's too, but I realize that it's kind of like wanting to have your cake and eat it, too... (unless you do the supercharger to spin up the huge turbo thing like that crazy bastid on here - my friend doesn't have that kind of money)

Put it this way, there's a guy I know who just kills the older Mustangs and lots of other cars from a dig or from a roll, but up around 70 mph, that whole "no replacement for displacement" kicks in, and my friend says that even an apparently stock 'stang doesn't get left behind too far, an older Cobra can keep up, and the 03 and 04 Cobras (and the LS1's, C5's and up, etc...) will romp on him on the freeway...

My friend wants to know the best way to have that top end (ie - drop it into fourth at 70 and floor it and get your face smooshed back) without sacrificing too much of the daily driver-ability...

He also realizes that's not really a word, hyphenated or not.

He's also looked at ALL the different turbo kits, and cams (with and without gears) and the 10.5 hotside at a bare minimum - bottom line is with the stock turbo the 70-100mph just isn't going to happen, is it? Although I'm sure 272's w/ gears and a flash would help...

He's done lots of searches, and is just soliciting opinions.

Thanks

Oh, btw, he has the same basic mods that I do. Funny.

I'm pretty new to these boards but I'll take a stab at it....I would say cams and a tune would help out quite a bit top end.

Losing the cat is worth 10/15hp, ecu/flash/piggyback, throw the intake in the trash and put your stock piece back...

I would think the intake would make very little difference until you start making some high power, I think the stock airbox isn't too restrictive.

Throw your intake in the trash? You're an idiot. Anyways, get a 3" TBE, MBC@21 so your boost doesn't taper, fuel pump, intake, cams and tune. You'll be very pleased
