You should be reading some sort of vacuum after hooking it up there. I just hooked up my defi boost gauge in the same spot you did and it reads 15 on the vacuum side at idle.

For the boost gauge, I'd tap the vacuum line going from the intake manifold to the fuel pressure solenoid, not after the solenoid. (or is that just a DSM thing) Just make sure the lines are secure and in good condition. You don't want to lose your boost source to the fuel pressure regulator, especially under boost. I don't quite understand why you would tap the boost control solenoid for a boost gauge, or am I misunderstanding what I read?

This doesn't seem right, now my gauge has been sitting in my basement for a while it came off a previous 1.8t gti and when removed it worked perfectly. Any input or ideas?
I think you have the boost thing figured out, but next you need to get your mods figured out. I see that you're in NOVA, but I haven't seen you ask for any help on our local Dc Evo Club board. We would have suggested a completely different set of mods to start off with that would provide a ton more power and make your car run great. If you're interested in either of these things, let us know.

I'm curious if you bought/installed your stuff yourself or at Vertex...

Alright, driving home tonight and experienced a stutter, twice, when giving it almost full throttle in 5th gear. Had no other problems in any other gear, but the car stumbled in 5th at high boost. Could this be the motor knocking? I was only cruising in 5th at about 65mph when I gave it some gas to get around the guy in front of me.

was waiting for someone to say it. if your boost gauge is correct, you are going to destroy your turbo pretty quickly. is your evo much faster since you put on these mods? i ask b/c your mods won't get you much power. if you were boosting 27 lbs before the mods the stock bov couldn't hold that much boost, so you will be extremely quicker with the new bov as it would hold that boost better. if you were boosting the stock 20 before mods and are boosting 27 lbs now, that is like 30+whp and you should definately feel that. and 27 tapering to 22 on stock bc and ecu sounds plausible.

No I think my gauge is off I have another on order so soon we will se for sure. This car was brand new and bone stock when I got it since I have had it I added the injen intake+intercooler piping and greddy rs bov. So the boost hasn't been altered by me a bit the gauge must be off
