I thought it was amazing, too, until I saw Sean Glazar (world's fastest Talon) run 11.5 at 119 on his stock 9.8 hotside last night on pump + alky. He no-lifted EVERY shift and made insane mph despite having a stock bottom end and untouched head (just cams and cam gears). It's his daily driver w/full weight (3510 w/driver), AEM EMS, 93oct/alky, cams/gears. I thought I was good until I saw what he did. Oh, and when he hit 119.5, it was the first time he hit the rev limiter in 4th. That's when he told me his rev limiter was still set to stock!! He then bumped it up 100rpm for the next pass, but I left before he went, so I don't know if he hit 120 or not.

I'm getting my little base flash from Al on Monday and will probably ask for an 8000rpm rev limit, then I'll go back out next Friday to the same track and just hold down 4th all the way through the traps for the first time. If the conditions are similar to last night, I could possibly see 114mph, considering I hit 113.7 after shifting to 5th once.

Believe me, if you get the ideal conditions like we had last night (50-60* and low humidity), you will break your own records, too.

yeah, but im in south GA bro. Gonna be another month before we see 60.

There is a big DSM thing here next weekend. This is the same track I ran my 117mph at last april....we'll see what happens.

Why don't you try and come down, tons of DSMs and Evos are always there.

btw, make sure you get rid of boost cut while he's raising your Rev limit. If you would put in some 110 or better yet c16 and crank up the boost, you'll see 116 mph for sure.

Well, I assume that boost cut/fuel cut is taken out automatically with the base flash, but I'll make sure it does when he comes down. I _was_ on 110octane, but it was about 4 gallons mixed with 2 gallons of 93, which factors out to 104. C16 may give me some more power, but I'm not confident I can hit 115-116 strictly due to gearing and no cams. I will see how far I can go with 8000rpm in 4th, but remember that I'll be completely out of breath by that point on the stock turbo and stock cams.

I'd love to come down there for a dsm/evo meet, but that's a bit far, haha. Hmm, wait...the wife is out of town for the weekend, so what better to do than that? I'll think about it.

I'm not sure who is fastest at this moment; I was just making sure the reference to Sean Glazar was understood. He, along with DB, were pretty much the pioneers of the DSM community

He's not concerned with Curt Brown at all, nor his record. Sean said his goal with the Evo is to make the fastest STREET car setup possible, because that would appeal the most to people like you and me. He's trying to go as fast as he can without weight reduction, without race gas, without building the engine or head, and that's what impresses me. I am of from the same school of thought: make the most out of less.

Yes, I was incredibly impressed by the 119.5mph, also, especially on the 9.8 hotside. He showed me his AEM EMS logs and his boost was going no higher than 24psi and was tapering to as low at 17 by the end of 4th according to the MAP sensor.

Well, I only do it on the 3-4, and that throw is straight back, plus I shift at 7200-7300, so when I make the shift, it gets back in gear before the revs hit the limiter. I do use the clutch, though, yes.

I hope you have smaller hands than mine when installing the SS line, took me a long time, at times, I felt like kicking the dam car. The banjo bolt and getting the SS line to line up correctly before bolting it back is kind of tricky. Good luck though.

Very Nice. It's speed shifting and I thought it would not be possible in the Evo.
Power shifting is banging in the gears without the clutch which is not really recommend ... LOL

I'm gonna adjust my clutch this weekend!!
