Turbo sounds like a truck

i drove to hemet california, and i got lost going to casino morongo, and then i went back to hemet then to antelope valley all in 1 day... now my turbo spool. up sounds like a turbo 18 wheeler turbo... i cant explain it but if youve heard a truck turbo youd understand.. any suggestions on why it may be doing this all of a sudden? i have 22,500 miles on my evo.

yea it sounds like a turbo diesel truck exactly! i was beatin the car up on the freeway alot that day, we ran into a lot of people tryin to race us on freeway, but the car runs fine! theres no problems that i can see, i dont feel like im losing any hp it just makes that wierd noise... please help anybody

You might have a exhaust leak, loose downpipe, o2 housing or exhaust. My turbo honda crx sounds like that(semi truck turbo diesel) when I remove my exhaust from the turbo back. Good luck with your evo

its not the motor sounds, like i said its just when u hear a spool of a turbo diesel, it sounds like my spool... its wierd...other then that it sounds like my car does normally

where is it typical to get a boost leak? i didnt have one and all of a sudden i do.. but it does seem like a leak because i will hear it distort if i hold the boost at like a certain level like its coming out of somewhere...
