05 MR Boost Spike

I have an 05MR and In 6th gear at about 4K at WOT The mitsu Gauge spikes past 1.5 and pins its self there for a second before it tapers and the computer seems to regain control. The only mod i have is a AMS catless turbo back??? Should i be worried? On my STI I know that i had to port the wastegate because of the same problem once a turbo back was installed.Any one have similar issues?

No, you should not worried. If you are running 93 octane or better you will be fine.

It's natural to spike high in a higher gear at low rpm due to the amount of load. The downpipe reduces back pressure, which causes a higher-than-stock boost spike. You should be OK on pump gas, but it's probably causing the ECU to pull a ton of timing. I recommend not rolling into boost from low rpm in 6th gear...it's just not good for the car.

I know why it happens but is there enough room for the injectors to compensate. Where is fuel cut on these cars???
