boost ?
well, ur boost gauge might be off, but my going by the fact it tapers to 17 in third it is probably close. Putting an exhaust on will give u a higher spike. Mine on an 03 which is lower stock peak boost then the 05 spiked to 22 psi before i got a tune. I would advise u get a tune soon. A 25 psi spike on 94 octane isnt too safe but wont hurt anything (im no tuner) but if you get a bad take of gas you might have some problems

My question to you is: Are you using a MBC(Manual boost controller). Another quick question, is your Defi BF gauge the electronic model which is controlled by the Defi Controller?
Please let me know, I want to answer your question more accurately and perhaps narrow your issue, believe me on that one I owned 12 Turbo cars and I have an idea of what your problem is but I need that additional info.

first off cut the B/S ha ha my mustang is super charged low 11's all bf's gauges need the controller to work this is why many people dont post because of people like you answer the ? this is not class
The spike is a little higher than most would like to see. If you get a MBC (pretty cheap and effective) you will see a smaller spike and a little less taper at high RPM.
Look at the Forge and Hallman Boost Controllers.

Ok Gixxer, the reason why I was asking you about the BF gauge series is because you can record and view your boost runs, basicly you can pin point when the drop of pressure occurs which will give you a cloud if you have a leak or if something is not properly connected. The Evo comes with a copper ball bledder boost line on the compressor side , right after it exits the nipple. Without this bleeder you boost mostlikely will fluctuate until the engine revs up.
The theory behind this is that you build initiallly boost and the turbo has a tendency to naturally spin freely faster and faster.
A good MBC should be able to fix the problem by minimizing the spike and also by allowing you to set the boost to a intermidiate steady bost level(somewhere between 17 and 25psi)

No probelm Gixxer. By the way, try to solve the issue ASAP, the cold temperatures in the early morning and at night could significantly agravate the situation a whole lot more. You might get an aditional two more PSI of peak boost which could make your car run extremely lean.
Good luck and let us know the resolution.
