Greddy Profec B Spec 2 problem.
I been getting some crazy spikes. im running meth spiking to 30 psi. but for some reason now im spiking up to 35psi. i did try turning off the ebc, and i only get 11psi,when the ebc is off. which is from the westgate. and i think thats suppost to be normal.
but when i turn the ebc back on i get the bad spikes again. i check all the vacum hoses and they seen to be ok. maybe the solenoid on the ebc went bad. if any body have any ideas, Any help would be greatly appreciated.
here are my mods

My ebc did fine at first too, now I'm having spiking too. That's what someone had told me to try adjusting. Haven't messed with it yet. I'm running considerably lower boost than you, but it still wants to keep climbing unless my boost limiter is on. But then I get stuttering when it's around the limit.

i guess im gonna have to try that out, messing with the gain.
I've got the blitz sbc ID-III, does the greddy have a boost limiter funtion too? It's mostly at highway speeds that it happens to me. I'll be in fifth and step on it and once it reaches my set boost, it doesn't hit fuel cut, but it's like the car hesitates over and over, it's so frustrating.
i have a profec spec 2 also. What I've found is that when it acts up i have to turn it off and then on again. I had similar symptoms to yours. Hold down the button used for changing from hi to lo settings until it says OFF on the screen. Then hold it down again until the HI/LO lights come on and viola! Works for me any way.

If you decide you just can't deal with the spec 2 any longer, I'd recommend going with the Greddy type s ebc. Holds boost rock solid without any fluctuations due to the weather or whatever gear you're in. If you're familiar with the old Greddy profec B, the type s works exactly the same(no fuzzy logic). It just utilizes the smaller solenoid which is probably 1/3 the size of the old profec b's unit.
I ran the spec 2 on my old gsx for a little while. I would have it set right one day, and then the very next I would get the high boost spikes. I did something similar to what V.8MR mentioned but that only helped a little. Eventually it cost me an engine due to a rod flying through the block after boost spiked to 27psi on the freeway in 4th gear. I had it tuned for 22psi on 93oct. I've been running the new type s ebc ever since and haven't looked back. No issues what so ever. That's the best solution I can give you.

because im confuse, when i turn the % to 0 on the ebc, i shoudnt be making any boost right.? cause even at 0% still spikes to 30 psi. so thats why i think theirs something wrong with the ebc.

I had it on my 240sx and it worked fine. Its actually really easy to use. Check your gain % and start gain (press it once for gain and twice for start gain i believe. Im drawing from memory). Turn the start gain down to zero. If that stops the boost spiking then good. Slowly start turning the start gain up until your not spiking and getting good boost response. If that doesnt work then fool with your gain %. Think of that as a limiter. If you turn it up it will allow a slight amount of boost, turn it down it will allow less boost. You basically need to fool with your set and gain while your start gain is at zero and then fool with the start gain.
It sounds hard, but its really easy. I had to teach myself cause the shop that installed my MBC on my 240 had it running 15-16 psi (too much for the SR) on HI and then 12 psi on LO. Good luck and if you have any more Q's feel free to PM me.

When you say % are you just turning the knob, or pressing in the knob and then turning it?
