Sheet Metal Intake on Stock Turbo???

http://www.evomoto.com/product_info....d3a454a945d013

Do you guys think adding this to a car with the factory turbo is worth it?

I have 272 Cams, Cam Gears, Intake, 3" Turbo back, Catless, Hard Pipes, 10.5 Hotside, Tubular Exh Mani, Tubular 02 housing, ALKY Kit and Using ECU+ for tuning.

The AMS VSR intake manifold is a must for any evo with an aftermarket turbo, allowing for strong clean pulls to 9500+ rpm on race engines.

I would not bother with this on a stock turbo car....a royal PIA to install (regardless of the brand), and lots of extra tuning required afterwards...and anyone who tells you otherwise is trying to sell you something.

I've seen more than one Magnus blown apart as well.....not what I would recommend to anyone

Many of the aftermarket intake manifolds don't retain any of the emission controls. thats the only neg i can think of as far as on a street car: not being able to pass emissions. is the idle affected by an aftermarket manifold? would it be necessary/ beneficial run a stand alone ems?

sorry for high jacking but i'm curious also.

Most people that are seriously looking at one have enough mods to where they are already running a standalone.
The only way I would run one on a stock turbo is if I was doing track days running lower boost and just wanted a huge powerband to reduce shifts. That would be the last thing I'd be doing though.

the stock manifold gives you the best bottom end torque if you are looking for top end then it is worth it.

I am typically "Critical" of products offered by Weapon-R, but this is the first one that impressed me enough to consider it.

Not so much that its a sheet metal intake, it basically looked identical to the other aftermarket intake manifolds out there, but its specifically available in a version that retains the stock sensors, vacuum lines, and other stock pieces that are required for the factory ECU to not complain..

If the quality of the metal and welds is good, and the fit is good, then I don't see anything wrong with trying it. Heck I'd try one out if I had a few extra dollars or could get one for evaluation.
