^ Honestly, don't cheap out on cams if you're gonna buy used ones, be VERY careful and make sure you see them in person before purchasing them. Not sure wether or not the hks cams say hks or not but I wouldn't even buy used cams if it were me...

HKS cams have HKS stamped on them. Accept no imitations. If they are not stamped, they are not real.......

id you know what you are doing, i think its a dial indicator(i have to double ccheck, i just recently learned how to measure every part of the block) on v-blocks, spin it and it shoould give you a reading on how much each lobe is off

Their definitely marked HKS, I do think the duration is actually also stamped on the end, but its been awhile since I looked at the cams... The only way to be 100% certain is to measure the duration and lift of the lobes..

To be completely honest, I would NEVER buy used cams from anyone regardless.. But if this helps any, the stock cams are actually hollow in the middle, and the aftermarket cams are solid.. not sure if there's an easy way to tell if its hollow since I never examined it closely to see if it had a different "tone" or feel.

Yep the stock is hallow and lighter than any HKS set, you can feel the difference just buy picking them up if you have both sets to compair. Sucks that some people would try to sell a cam advertising the wrong duration or lift. Leave it to that one dishonest person to cause the honest sellers issues down the road. Sucks!

yea, why buy them used to save 100$ ??? then if they are messed up or they arent right you'll end spending more then you would have. if it was a shift knob or, maybe some springs, it might be worth it. but i wouldnt buy used cams either

HKS cams has the HKS stamp on the right..and in the middle, or on the cam edge theres numbers writen lightly so you can tell if its 264, or 272...cams like GSC and Buddy Club..dont have anything on em..and Buddy Club looks like GSC cams, and vice versa..i couldnt really tell anything obvious diff...there for telling the diff. between those 2 is hard...

theres nothing wrong w. buying used cams..they dont wear down or anything...if the person who installed it and take it outright..i say go for it..or i guess you guys just have money..?

Is there any specific way to tell if you have an IN vs. Ex cam?

it is very easy to distinguish the stack cams from aftermarket cams. you can see that the stockers are hollow. it is also very easy to distinguish the exhaust from the intake cam as the exhaust cam is threaded on the end to accept the cam position sensor.

I got stock cams when I bought HKS 272s from the member in this forum. be very careful. and buy only with credit cards. Buy from one you can trust or live very close to you. remember to use only credit cards. I got my money back through credit card company when paypal refused to refund my money. And I ordered ported O2 housing from the member here. It has been almost 3 weeks. I still haven't got it yet.
It is hard to trust people and vendors you don't know well. when you buy it, buy it from reputable vendors. I wouldn't buy expensive stuffs from the member you don't really know.
