HELP.... Cam fraud???
I don't know what the fuss is on used cams. Cams for the most part are a "non wear item". It is not like you are buying a used clutch with unknown use and life left.
If you know the person, great. Personally I can eye the cam lobes to tell 264/272/280's apart as obviously HKS would be stamped on the solid units. Other brands like GSC only have 2 choices 264 or 272 and are also solid and unmarked. It is either one or the other with the 264 being a bit pointier than the more rounded 272 lobe.

I bought my used HKS cams off this site about 3 weeks ago for $300. Work good, great shape, couldn't be happier! The only thing i bought new in my mod list is the DV and LICP because i simply couldn't wait any longer to have them.
Cams for an Evo don't wear much if any at all. Buying a set of used cams is not a bad thing if you know the person they came from. Cams will have wear marks if regular maintanance wasn't done. Personally if you will save only $100 I dont see why even go with used, $200 yes.

I bought my 264's used for $400 and now have a set of 272's sitting in my garage I bought for $275 and trading parts waiting to go in that are used. I've bought almost everything on my car used. Saving $100 is saving $100 any way you look at it.
I bought my Exedy twin disk used. The guy that sold it to me said it only had 50 miles at the most on it. I had it inspected by a shop and bought it for $500. The clutch was installed last year and is still holding up just fine.

I sold my used 272s to a member here, and he is very happy with them. HKS cams are marked HKS and also have small markings to distinguish between intake and exhaust.
