clutch installed...cant get car into gear!

Everything is perfect after the install except the car will not go into gear. The shifter floats around and doesnt grab anything. I checked the cables and they're connected. The small one above the larger one, like its supposed to be.

I noticed there is a swinging joint where the small cable connects and theres a dowel for something but there isnt anything on there. What is the 3rd connection?

A common issue is that people use to drive in with a gear engage. Once you remove the tranny the cables must be install accordingly.

Make sure you are in neutral, undo the shifting cables and makes sure you install/engage them back into place again while in neutral.

If you don't have the shifting cables install correctly the car wouldn't shift at all.
