My old cable got lost so I purchased a new one from tuner tools. The first ACD light and abs light blinks whenever I connect it to the port. When i connect it to my laptop the drivers never get installed. Never had this issue with my old cable. What shall I do? Do I have a faulty cable? Ride is Evolution VIII.

 

They added logging support for the ABS and AYC modules in the newer cables, thats why you get the flashing ABS and ACD. Once you start rolling, they'll go out. I think the cable is sending a "tester present" message or something to the ABS module, or trying to go into diagnostic, although, i never cared enough to evaluate it, really. You could remove those pins, if you dont care about logging that stuff, or split open the case and throw a microswitch on there, if you think you'd want to log the abs stuff later on. I know it really bugs me to have flashing lights, but it doesnt hurt anything in this case.

As for drivers for the cable, off the top of my head, i think i remember the drivers being installed automatically when you enstaled ECUFlash? Might want to check if the new cable uses the same com port as the old one did? I am sure there are other threads on this, too.

 

I searched a lot but did not find anything. Even pm'd malubujack. Whenever I connect the cable to my laptop, drivers fail to install. Can anyone give me a link where this issue is disucussed?
