So, you CAN get 30+ PSI on the STOCK turbo???

He hit 30, yes. It's not unreasonable, though I assume it's well out of the turbo's efficiency range. Take your MBC apart and look for signs of corrosion. The final incident that pushed Brian (03BREvo8) to go to the RX was that after installing his alcohol kit, the ball looked like it was eaten up pretty badly. To me it makes a good case for running your MBC off of the turbine outlet nozzle instead of the BOV reference, since there can be condensation in the upper line.

to clarify... He had sticking problems with the SS ball BEFORE going to Alky
AFTER going to Alky, the ball got progressively eaten up.

referencing the turbine nozzle for your MBC may help keep the lines dry/prevent corrosion and sticking or freezing.

Yeah, mine is connected to the turbo nipple...I'll take a look at the MBC this afternoon...meanwhile, I'll watch the boost closely...thanks!

Update...

Yup...turns out it was the Hallman MBC...the ball was sticking...I sprayed a bunch of WD-40 in there and exercized the spring...it works normally again.

Those of you who have MBCs should be sure to lube them once a year to prevent boost problems...glad I didn't blow my engine...30 PSI is a wee bit high...
