Autometer vs Defi??

I was pretty much set on getting a set of Defi gauges for my car. Then, just for kicks, I decided to look at some other gauges that are on the market. I came upon the Nexus gauges and looked into them. Those gauges looked awesome, very much like the Defi ones. Except the colors can be changed, which is an interesting feature to have.

But with them looking as cool as the Defi's and having features similar, if not better, than the Defi gauges the question still remains: which one is better??

I'm sure many people have experience with Defi, but has anyone used these Nexus gauges?

Guys here are always arguing which is better. I guess alot believe, if you have an import, stick with Japanese parts and accessories. But you have to remember though, all the race cars here in the U.S. (drag racing and stock cars) uses Autometer. Bottom line is up to your preference and budget.

a friend actually went to pruven and pruven told him that the defi gauges are inaccurate over and above 20+psi...he was running 23-24psi on the DEFI gauge, then switched to the stewart warner gauge and was reading 20-21psi..W/O touching the boost controller of course...my opinion, get the stewart warner gauge, reads up to 40psi, is precise, and only costs 68 dollars shipped with a sweet LED light to go with it hehe ;-)

LOL!! I wish I could just buy them!! Unfortunately, I always check everything out to the last extent before buying, especially when it costs more than $100!!! Those gauges look good though!!

I think the autometer has the peak, warning, dim, playback, etc as well.

What about Megan gauges?? They look pretty nice.

i own a defi D boost gauge. it read very accurate. i've also had some autometer gauges in the past. their quality is very good. but just nowdays you see everyone honda owner with at least 3 of them. i felt like getting something different so i chose defi. and really the price difference isnt far about the defi BFs abd the autometer nexus are about the same price. i also recall reading they are about to come out with their own wideband air/fuel gauge.

I'm going to be getting Nexus gauges. I like being a little different, and I like the features the Nexus have.

I have used both and I would say I like the Defi better.
But both of them have their fair share of defective ones.

I have a Defi D Boost gauge and I know its accurate. How do I know???

Because I also have a MAP sensor with my Zeitronix Dataloggin system and they always
read the same exept the defi gauge spikes a liitle higher (1 psi), but I believe its just because the needle gets going and over shoots the correct reading a little.

Anyways, my vote.....Defi.

I have also had both, Defi on the Evo and Autometer on my old car. I prefer the Defi although the boost guage does read low by 1.5 psi on mine.

The problem with Defi is that you have to use there control unit tp run them
And it also seems that 90% of the gauges are metric
This is just what I have seem. Does anyone know were to get the best selection of these gauges, in the standard settings.
Cause these things are just plain SICK!

Thats only the Defi BF, if you get a Defi D, you don't need a control unit.

All Defi gauges come in metric and standard.
