BR FMIC Deluxe users...

Are any of you having the same problem I am of the coupler on the lower IC deteriorating? This is the 3rd time in less than a year the coupler has just basically came apart.

Its a very cheap Turbonetics coupler. Its as thick as a peice of paper, awful quality. I ordered a new one from DS a couple months ago, replaced it, and now I hear the boost leak AGAIN, sure enough I check under the car and its ripped up again.

I called Buschur and the only thing they can say is "make sure the pipes are lined up" - which they are, perfectly. I think its from the movement of the engine back and forth.

I just ordered a Samco Reducer (2-->2.25) but it wont be here for 4 weeks, so as of right now, I have to spend another $25 on another crap coupler until the real deal Samco arrives. Anyone else dealing with this? I think Buschur should include better couplers with the kit! Its making my car unreliable.

Which coupler are you refering to? Both my hump coupler 2.5" (upper pipe) was torn. I had to get a 4ply coupler. Have not check the one that goes to the lower intercooler/turbo pipe. I hope that one is not torn as well.

And yes BR needs to go to a 4ply material.

Im talking the 2" to 2.25" straight reducer that connects the inlet of the IC to the turbo outlet pipe (only on Deluxe FMICs).

If yours is torn, youll know it immediately, it makes a ridiculous whistle noise on boost. I can hardly boost my car right now.

On a side note Im glad (well not happy people are having problems) that its happening to others and not just me. Ive already spent $60 on new ones (which still suck). The turbonetics couplers are straight up junk, period. Only Samco ones should be used.

I haven't had an issue with that one yet. I should check it because the car feels slow now. The whistle will depend on the tear.

I'm using these hump hoses without issue so far.

Im the using hump hoses on my upper IC pipe, I have no complaints about them, its the reducer coupler thats been the major problem.

Yep and in my case it was both the hump hoses that I had to replace. I will look at the 2 to 2.25 reducer to make sure it's not torn. I hope I don't have to remove the lower pipe to change it out because the lower pipe was a bit** to put on.

I also switch out the 2.5 to 2.75 TB one to the AMS 4ply one.

Good luck.

yea that reducer went on my car also, it was right after the clutch though so i think from my mechanic tilting the motor foward it tore it. did any of u guys get clutches done after the fmic install??? the Fmic and pipe stays stationary but when they push the motor foward to get the t-case out it twists it. i replaced mine with a vibrant reducer (non hump) and havent had any issues since. if anyone needs one let me know

My car has torn 3 or 4 of those couplers. Engine movement seems to be the cause. Can't wait for the HD engine mounts to come out.

Yep, I had a clutch install and after that the car was never the same. It runs like there's a leak somewhere. If you're talking about the lower coupler (2 to 2.25) then let me know how much and is it 4 ply. Do you know if the lower pipe needs to be removed? I minus well replace now.
