Don’t forget that this unit is a casting, not an inferior welded tubular design.

Castings take more time to develop, require precise and expensive molds, and require special facilities and production equipment. After casting they have to be CNC machined of all extrusions, to ensure best possible flow. Cast parts are much more complicated and expensive to produce.

The cheaper welded tubular O2 housings are inexpensive and simple to produce. However there are key advantages to a cast O2 housing, and specific features that you will only find in the soon to be released WORKS Cast O2 housing.

Example:
Stock durability. We have seen non cast units crack and fail over time
You can keep all factory heat shields and heat shield mounting locations
You can retain factory mounting locations and factory support brace
Stock appearance and fitment
3” outlet fits perfectly with our downpipe.

This is one of the only TRUE 3” exhaust solutions on the market. Most other O2 housing maintain the factory’s tiny gasket, limiting the overall diameter of the outlet.

There will be package deals.
Think, WORKS 02 housing + WORKS Downpipe = Deal
Already have the WORKS 76mm DP? = Same Deal!

O2 housing alone = $429

This is not a deal. Heck if people have a downpipe and want to buy your $400.00 O2 housing, then they also have to buy your donpipe to use it. Like i said before please show us a dyno graph before and after with this 02 housing.

A good selling point would be to give people a price guarantee. If you lower the price on these within, say 12-18 months, you'll agree to refund the customer the difference.

No one wants to be an introductory price sucker, especially on something like this where it seems obvious that you are going to have to lower the price eventually to sell this in any significant volume.

How do you really quantify the worth of this product however?

You can only comment on what it's worth to you, not it's true market value.

Yes, it's expensive, but as has already been mentioned, it's a cast piece which is significantly more expensive to develop and produce, and in the small initial quantities which this product is likely being produced, Works is fully entitled to make a return on their investement in development, tooling, testing, and production costs.

The comapnies manufacturing the tubular pieces are making hundreds upon hundreds of them at a time, which helps to further decrease the costs of those pieces. Works is not yet at a point to be able to produce them in such a capacity, and they should not be criticized for it.

If you can't afford, or don't think it's worth it, just give it a rest.

Those that are interested can comment on it.

And Works pays for advertising space and rights on this site which gives them every ability to promote their products in any way that they can . Including doing so in topics related to products they offer. This is what keeps this site up and running

Don't be so hard on them! C'mon!

Actually we have nearly 50 people on a waiting list, many have already paid or put down a deposit. The demand is there at the current price.

The profit margin on the non-cast units is higher than on cast. Cast units cost much more to produce!

I dont need to and thats what I think your missing the boat on. This isnt a vital exhaust component that you can mark up and expect people to purchase. At best its going to add 10hp. Ill spend my money on another item to make that 10 hp up. This isnt a NA Honda where every hp counts.
