question on cam gear settings
The -1/-3 setting makes the engine more efficient in the rpm ranges where the factory turbo is more efficient. It also increases midrange torque, and gives a choppier idle.
The tradeoff is decreased detonation resistance and less forgiveness where tuning is concerned. If all you have is 91 oct, it may be a bit on the aggressive side.
