Cam Gear on a Evo IX with mild cams

Hello everyone,

So been messing around tuning my GSC s1 cams on my IX. I'm just not getting the power I was expecting. Mid range seems to be the same but top end definetly gained.

My question is, since my car is a DD and really want more tq then top end power, I was thinking about cam gear to shift the power band.

What is everyone's thoughts on an exhaust cam gear? I would prefer to have 4k-6k power rather then 6k-8k power. Any experience on what I should set it to?

From what I been reading I should start with -2 degrees. Just looking for any input and advice.

You d need to degree it first. It took -5.5 degrees just to get mine to true TDC.

I never degreed an engine. Is it possible to do it with without pulling it out? Everytime I saw it done was when the engine was pulled.
