I'm gonna call up my dealership back home and see what they can do, i'm sure they'll fix it for me. They ordered me 2 new calipers becase they started to peel before they even looked at the actual calipers

Got great news !!!!!!!!!! I was driving home tonight from work and i was on I-4, i was trying to duplicate the problem so i could know exactly where the grinding is so i could show the dealer. After a few attempts, it would go in perfect with no grinding at all. I tried it at 5k,6k and 7200k and it went in fine. The weird thing also is that b4, my tranny felt soooo notchy and now is gone!! It feels as smooth as when i switched to penzoil in my 03, this is so weird. What do you guys think? Is it maybe the syncro was not alligned? What could this be? Im so happy that i dont have to take the car anymore

so when you got rid of your 5th gear rind that also got rid of the crunch going into 2nd and 3rd? mine is starting to get worse i think. still dont know if mine grinds 5th above 5k rpm's or not, but the 2nd and 3rd gear grunch is getting so bad its starting to feel like this beat up old escort i've been driving up at work.

Transmissions don't fix themselves and syncros don't get misaligned, so my guess is that the clutch wasn't disengaging all the way. Check the fluid level in the clutch master cylinder. Does the clutch pedal feel any different? Did anyone happen to adjust the clutch? If so, that was it (common issue on the EVO). The only other thought was maybe difference in temperature. I have heard issues with different transmission oils causing sluggish shifting when cold. I am no expert on oil though. Whatever the case, I am glad it's now working for you.

5th gear syncro problems have been an issue since 03's, this is NOT something new. I posted bc this is an 05 and this issue was supposed to be corrected for this year.

The grind has not come back at all, what rpms are you shifting at when you experience the grind? Are you shifting fast into 5th? I think John from TRE mentioned that shifting too fast will cause the grinding. I gave that a try and i have not grinded since then. Im gona remove the restrictor and adjust the clutch pedal also
