Best valves and springs?

ok ive been thinking, and trying to decide what to go with.

Ferrea
Crower

i know ferrea is really expensive, witch is the best for the money, i want double springs, retaners and valves... anyone know people that run one or the other?

I run Crower, I don't think you can go wrong with any of them. I'd make sure you really need those double valve springs. I see you have a T67 from your sig, but I'm not sure even that would require double springs.

My friends experience with sprint cars is that when you order the double springs, they are much harder to get matched spring rates and have them stay matched. Some guys that get really **** about it buy two sets and try to get all of them as close as possible. I know, its a different application, but its something to think about. Those guys are running up to11,000 RPM (Normal operation in the 8-9K range) in big V8s with 17:1 compression--they don't like things to be different... even a little bit

(if a vendor could test those dual springs and verify the spring rates, that would be great!)

We have sold a few sets of Supertech and had great experience with them. I have a set of those in stock with Ti retainers if you are interested.

I would imagine you will be okay reving up to 8500rpm with the Supertech valve springs. If you want to do any higher than that...I would recommend the dual setup.

I've run all of them at one point in time. I like supertech the best. The ferreas I got were not hardened at all, the crower and supertech valves are both nitrided. The crower valves and supertech valves were equal in quality IMO.

For springs supertech is the way to go. Their single springs are 200lbs at full lift which is fine for a 272 up to 9k in my experience. What cams do you have?

I know people are going to scream bloody murder, but I've been running the Revolver set for a while now... only 8100rpm on HKS 272's daily. However, they spec out nicely, and were very consistent across the board when my engine builder tested them. He was impressed saying he's seen more deviation in "big name sets". They are claimed to be good for 10,000rpm on OE Evo valves, and up to 14mm of lift. Not bad for sets I can get a hold of for half what other sets cost.

I don't know about valves yet as I've not gotten around to it with the evo...

we've been using Supertech valves and springs for years now...have a set in one of my own cars (revs till 10k and its a straight 6 . My machinist initially recommended them to me, and after seeing what this motor can do, we decided to add them to the site.

Great value per dollar

Our engineer oversees the engine development for Realtime, designed over 90% of Eibach's valve spring line aka. EVS, and consults for BMW OE and the F1 team......In other words, we are very keen with valve train dynamics. Thanks again, Zues and to all of our customers this far, for your support, including Buschur Racing!

grab some ferrea valves with ti retainers and springs, match them to be like the stockers which have hollowed natrium filled valves . That would be totally sweet.

mttam510,
Zeus man... Z-E-U-S!

No Problem

My engine builder does everything from 1.6L Honda's to full mega ProStock engines. I was impressed that he liked them.

Exactly which sprintcar class do you speak of that has most competitors turning 11,000 RPM

Quite a difference between OE, aftermarket, and F1 work. F1 being the one that does not quite fit the set. You use "consults" which suggests presently. F1 presently, and for a long time, has not run coil springs. They run pneumatic systems - not coil springs. Which F1 team does your engineer consult for
