Is this BOV in backwards? Was it "crushed"?

Was this thing installed backwards? Also, was the top crushed to allow for more boost? I was told it was, but it doesn't look like it was.

If the shots are too small, let me know and I'll blow em up.

That is the JDM MR BOV or the Evo IX BOV. Not crushed and it is NOT backwards. Perfect.

Not heard of anyone crushing the MR JDM BOV. This is typically done on the 1g DSM valves to hold >17psi.

That is correctly installed. Just make sure the hose is not pinched, sometimes it will cause stuttering and such.

Hmm, I agree. It is installed properly and does not appear to be crushed. Do you have an aftermarket MAF pipe, though? I don't know if that would make a difference, but the way I see it installed, it should not flutter.

Well thanks for the comments fellas. I'm not sure how the MAF pipe could cause the BOV to flutter. The fluttering only occurs at very low boost. If I let off the gas pedal while above 6-8 lbs of boost, I don't get the flutter. Very odd.

Maybe I should just get some very obnoxious and annoying VTA valve that shoots out neon lights when venting? j/k of course!

This is normal, without adequate pressure to blow off the unit will flutter and it is not an exclusive side effect of the jdm valve. Most do the same thing. Type-S, Type-R, Type-RS etc.
