I wasn't talking about the nut. I was referring to the the stud. When you guys put the stud into the block did you tighten it by hand using an allen wrench? If so you need to use a rachet instead. Get one of the socket that have an allen wrench tip and use that with a rachet to tighten the stud down.

Good luck.

VTECH8TR did do it correctly and even in a star like pattern so there was equal pressure.

Oil weeping from the head and a blown head gasket are two different things! If you have bad compression then you can call it a blown head gasket. Mine weeps oil also after the 1x1 head stud intall. In retrospect it was not the right way to do it.

What exactly do you mean by a 1X1 head stud install. Sorry for the retardedness.

Mark,

He means 1 stock bolt off and 1 ARP stud back on for all 10 of them.

I have the same problem and I am going to replace my head gasket in few weeks. I am using stock head gasket as its pretty thick and maybe going back to stock headstuds...

all the bla bla about head studs was for nothing...

Mine were installed by dyno4mance
