The simple answer is different ramp rates and different octane gas in the tank.

Hope the pics help in your further information and installing of your Vivid Racing purchased products!

Actually the EVO VII and EVO VIII bumpers are different length and hence should have different length exhausts to fit correctly. It will work but it will leave unsightly residue on the bumper (or melt it).

Good point Martin...You guys buy your WRX parts wholesale from us. Glad to see your doing EVO now too. Hopefully we can help you get some accurate numbers with the 4 wheel drive dyno.

Good luck and let us know when you get some stuff installed on your shop EVO, we would love to compare results and parts.

Dan,
I'll buy from you if I can get an exhaust that fits. Nice gains and the exhaust looks nice, but its too short. I also don't want to buy an exhaust plate...that looks ghetto. Let us all know what you find out.

Without any place for the o2 sensor to go, is it just left dangling there? Between that and the fitment, or in this case nonfitment, of the exhaust tip it almost seems better to wait for a usdm spec exhaust.

Actually the USDM bumper is different from the JDM Evo VIII (or VII) .. hence the difference in length of the tailpipe protrusion

The o2 sensor is secure and uses a CEL fix to delete in CEL from happening. The length is not a issue. I know everyone things that but if you saw the car in person, there is no issue.

It shouldn't be hard to create a small tip extention piece, should it? Something that is made from CF or other materials that just gets slid onto the end of the existing muffler tip....It would be a very easy fabrication job, I'd think.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT

Q.
Why is your peak torque at such a high RPM instead of the rated 3500?
A.
Because your dyno ramp rate is too fast.

Moral: These numbers are highly innacurate, due to improper use of a dyno.
