05' evo 8

I noticed the same thing on my 05' evo 8, from the factory I have no rev limiter and my throttle hangs at high rpms. However, about the bov, running VTA still causes stalling, not as bad as others with older evo's have said, but still some when shifting at high rpms. I just changed it to recirc and the prob was fixed, but the difference was insignificant, so I may just go back to VTA.

I do not believe you guys are engaging the limiter correctly. It takes a certain procedure and will not work if all the requirements are not met.

all 2005s have the rev limiter

be at a complete stop, engage clutch , put the car in gear, rev till it stops it for you

are you talking about the inbetween shifts? where the rpm rises? Try accelerating, then take your foot off the gas....then clutch in...if it doesnt rise, you are not properly balancing your gas and your shift...your foot is still slighlty on the gas when shifting. or maybe it is a problem in the evos cause ive had it and now i dont. and when id do what i said above it wouldnt happen.

Ok dude, imagine this. Your in 1st, you take off, FULL THROTTLE till redline and then shift into neutral FAST. Then the rpm kinda hangs and comes down noticably slow. That's what's happening to me and some other people.

I'm confused in reading this thread. Is this about hanging rpm or about 5k rev limiter or are they both related?

Have it to not always just with quick driving and not always the rpms will hang up and youll be like wtf, but i do have the rev limiter with a ecu flash now use it as a studder box builds 9-10psi of boost right off the line..
