Something really wierd with my EVO IX and a friends EVO IX..

My 1977 Honda Civic CVCC was like that. I pulled off some vacuum hose to get the rpm's to drop. LOL

FOR people having the hanging RPM thing on your 05's how many MILES are on it because I have not experienced this and I always take foot completely off gas while engaging clutch...
My 05 already has 10,000+ miles.........! What can I say I love to drive it

I was beding in my brakes on my new IX and I experienced this problem exactly as you describe 1NastyEvo. I actually came to a complete stop before my revs dropped below 3k RPM. Funny stuff.
However, this only seems to happen when you are full throttle and over like 6k rpm. It never happens when I'm under 6k or when i'm in partial throttle (even like 95%). My guess goes for the emissions thing.

My car started doing the rpm rise, slow drop thingy about a month ago. the wierd thing is I didn't disconnect anything to do with the rev limiter. I also notice my rpm's rise at idle every now and then, this might be more because it is getting colder now. I really would like to know why my rpms drop slow because I don't like it.

3" exhaust w/ hi-flow cat
Dynoflash ECUTEK
Walbro 255lph fuel pump
1g DSM BOV (recirc)
Halman manual boost controller (set at ~20psi)
It seems to be worse in the cold weather. It drives me nuts! I'm going to try an extra spring on the throttle and switch back to the stock BOV. I'll post up if I have any luck getting it fixed.
