Over-Revved
Don't worry about it. My buddy did that to my Impulsewhen it had a bone stock 2.6L long rod/stroke truck motor with a turbo (long stroke motors don't like to rev). If that motor didn't have anything bad happen to it at 9K, no way the 4G63 should have any problem.
When you say the engine is louder what do you mean? Mine is louder after the rev limiter set me back to 5000 rpm on a launch. I get a whining noise when I push the throttle, in gear or not. The dealer told me this is normal though.
your car should be OK. A rev limiter will prevent you from accelerating past the redline, but not from mechanically over reving. If you're doing 70 on the highway and you shift to first and let the clutch out, bad things happen.
Excessive RPM's can cause you to float a valve or damage/brake a connecting rod, but both are very noticeable and catastrophic failures. You should be fine, just be careful.
YMMV,
Greg

Gotacha thanks for the info

There is a redline in every gear while accelerating, its at about 7600, i accidentely hit it the other night in second gear. i wasnt paying attention to the tach while getting on it, hopefully it didnt do any damage to the engine. It was past 600 miles break in period.
I rev to 8,000 RPM on a daily basis at 25 PSI with my stock motor tunned and the motor has no problems. The only reason you rev to 7,000 from the factory is because of your warranty. The motor can handle up to 9,000 accasionally but not consistently. If there was a major problem you would have known when it happend because you would have had rods on the ground or bent valves. The 4G63 is damn near bulletproof.
if any engine damage due to over-revving occured, it would be noticeable. The most likely thing to happen would be valve damage, but if you lost a cylinder due to a bent valve, you would definitely know. You should be fine.

but yeah, compression test will let you know what happened.
yeah i dont think one time will do much, as for the noise i bet that its just in your hear. A few times iv done something like hit a big pot hole or something that makes me think something is wrong with my car and ill feel damn sure of it and it turns out to just be in my head. so maybe the noise is just in yours. which is ok, as long as there arent voices in there also
