Lets just put it this way.. you never notice the noise, then once you think you did something wrong, you freak out cause you hear a noise you never "heard" before.

I thought it was to keep your rpms under 5k until after 600 miles. The dealer told me 1500 miles also but i'm guessing they just want to be safe. The manual said 600 miles with not going over 5k rpm. I've got 900 on my evo8 now and have only gone past 6k once. Alot of pple say different things about the break in period which can cause confusion.
