Hi guys, my e9 when i shift from 1st gear to 2nd gear i have to push harder to get the gear in, and its not smooth like other gear,someting like krik krok then gear in, and only hapend to 2nd gear,other gear no problem, and also it only happend when i rev at lower rpm. mean low rpm rev on 1st gear then clutch to 2nd gear only got this feeling. if i rev to higher rpm on 1st gear like 4000rpm-5000rpm the 2nd gear will go in smooth. anyone know what is the cause? is it the syncro problem or oil?? thanks...

my car is 05 e9 6 speed.

 

When's the last time you replaced your fluid? My evo 8 done the same in evvery gear when putting it in gear it felt like it went in twice if that makes sense kinda like ur krik kroc description. Almost as if it would latch in then latch in further and in first sometimes it wouldn do it but if I let out of the clutch it would grind and I would take it out of gear put it back in and it would do the double lock feeling thing and it was fine. Anyways I changed all the drivetrain fluids with redline cuz the owner before me never changed it before and its alot stiffer feeling and smoother no more bouble clicking when going into gear.I don't think its an issue the evo just have notchy transmissions from the factory.

 

Yeah man. Will get the fluid replace tomorrow. Will update here.

 

I have change to more thick redline oil buy still the same. What oil grade most of u guys using?
