Having issues shifting from 1st to 2nd

Recently I have been having some issues shifting from 1st to 2nd gear... Sometimes when shifting, even in lower RPM range (3000-3500ish) I will be UNABLE to get into 2nd gear, its like there is a wall there preventing me from shifting into gear. I either have to go into 1st again then back into 2nd, or rev the engine very high and put it into 2nd.

The car is pretty much brand new, 3100 miles, never had any issues like this before, but this has been going on for a few days.

Any ideas?

it sounds like worn 2nd gear syncro or damage drum assy or maybe even a bent selector fork. With your car so new and 100k warranty just take it back to the dealer and hopefully it was not due to abuse. Good Luck.

yes it does sound like the sychro's but a drum prob?! manual transmissions do not have drums, those are found in auto. manuals have sliders, forks and gears. no drums. take it to your dealer and tell them you beleive that your sychros are starting to go out, give them these tsb numbers. tsb-03-22-001 and tsb-04-22-003rev those have to do with your transmission. also ask if they can replace your clutch assy at the same time, that way it wont cost you several hundred dollars to replace it.

The clutch disc is not releasing fully. This will cause the synchronizers to block the shift. Have them check the clutch adjustment and change the transmission oil.

Yes and yes. I have about 26k and its in the shop now(Mishi) . They installed my act about 2k ago. I had a really loud whine in 1st and my tranny oil had shards of oil in it. My cars been there for a week 1/2 but they are covering it under warrenty. I will let you guys know how it goes.

sounds like you had a slider take a crap along with the synchronizers. lucky for you, you found a dealer that will work on a mod'ed evo, many wont anymore, but there are a few of them who will
