Hey guys,

Just picked up my Evo last weekend. i love the car but have some issues with the shifter. When shifting from 1st - neutral or from 2nd - neutral sometimes the shifter "catches" and doesnt go into the middle of the neutral position. In other words, when in 1st, I pull back the shifter to the neutral position between 1st and 2nd, and let go (on most cars the shifter should pop back into the neutral position between 3rd and 4th) but sometimes it just "sticks" between 1st and 2nd, it seems like the shifter catches where 1st and neutral meets. anyone else have issues like this? Any help would be appreciated.

That's the nature of the shifter. You must deliberatley put it into neutral. After the tranny gets broken in, it will click into neutral a bit easier.

 

I dont have that problem. The only problem I have is when shifting from neutral to second or third, it seems bumpy, not smooth
