Exclamation Shifter feels out of place?

I have noticed my sifter is out of place. it is not centered in neutral so when i go left and right it feels a bit too high or too low. its hitting 1st or 2nd gear when i go left and 4th 5th when i go right. trans just doesnt seem as solid as it used to.
is there a bushing that could be wearing out thats causing this?

Check the shifter bushings on the trans.. Make sure they are not worn

I had an issue where the shifter wanted to get stuck to either side in neutral. Not sure if this is what you are describing.

I installed a short throw and lubricated all cabling/bushings going to the shifter and all was well again
