Case study # 107 - Another MR with big pump power

Here is another MR with some really great power on pump gas with our 2005 Evo Dyno Flash

This is member NYCEVO who has the follwoing mods

Buschur Intake
TX's 3" exhuast
Walbro Pump
HKS 272 int / 280 exh
Forge MBC

Custom Dyno Flash

On 93 octane with exactly 21 psi peak boost he is almost at 360 whp

I think I am onto something with some new revisions I have made in the past month. Generally we are seeing power levels about 20 whp higher than we were making with the same mods a year ago through constant work and testing on the flashing parameters.

Yeah, sure 280s don't make torque.

I would say that his tq is a bit lower than it would have been with a 272 / 272 set up

In most cases with my tuning the tq is slightly higher than the whp - buit in this case the tq is slightly lower - which i would attribute to the cams

OR - maybe - the tq is the same and the whp is higher ?

Ah - I can see more testing comming along soon

I believe your car was tested on the Buschur heartbreak dyno ?

BTW - do you have a 10.5 hotside in your car ?

No hotside and yes it was at BR.

I didn't think the hotside would made such a difference

GoKou - your numbers at Buschur are meaningless

Take it to the track and see what it does - its the best gauge

For example - my car made 660 on this Dyno jet and only 580 on Buschur's dyno and went 9.98

The 10.5 hot side does offer significant gains - IMHO enough to justify the extra expense

This is the guy - I spent many hours trying to chase down his problem - it turned out that his turbo heat shield was bent in such a way to prevent the wastgate arm from closing all the way and it would not make any boost
