Just curious if anyone bought one from the dealership or anywhere else they might be available and bolted them up to your 03-05? If so, how much did you pay for it?

Well I know this prolly isnt what the Original Poster intended but I want to see this turbo sent to Essex for the BB conversion and Ti/ ALUm conversion. Now that would be SICK !

The evo IX turbo lists for $1,799 from mitsu. I think I'll wait untill evo IX owner want to upgrade their turbo.

I was very very close to buying one of these, but elected not to because it's not that much better than the 05 turbo. However, if the US Spec version had the Mg wheel and TiAL shaft as the JDM version does, I would have given it a shot.

I ended up ordering a turbo kit that, when it arrives, will be on this site with pictures.

On the IX turbo, here's what I know in case anyone else is considering it:

US-Spec Evo IX (All Models) Turbocharger: 1515A055
- O2 Housing is the same as 03-05
- Uses 10.5 Hotside like 05s do
- Has a different CHRA than 05
- Has a different compressor housing than 05
- Dealer list price is $1795

JDM Evo IX (GSR/LS Models) Turbocharger: 1515A054
- Utilizes a magnesium compressor wheel
- inconel shaft

JDM Evo IX (RS Model) Turbocharger: 1515A059
- Utilizes a magnesium compressor wheel
- TiAL shaft

Well, I'm comin from a 9.8 hotside, so I would expect nice gains for my setup. The price though............too expensive.

Please if you don't know what you are talking about, don't post False misinformation. The EVO9 turbo is worth every penny. Look for some dyno graphs from Precision Dyno to make you retract this statement.

I don't know much about aftermarket turbos, but can't decent ones be bought for about $1k with titanium impellers and shafts? If so, why would $1,800 be worth it for the IX turbo? Is there something I'm missing?
