Need help choosing Injector size.

My car is going to be retune in a couple of weeks. So far I have never had a single detonation or hesitation with my current setup of stock fuel pump and injectors but I am adding a alcohol/methanol kit and a ECUTEK so I am aiming for a more agressive tuning.

What size of injectors are more suitable for my mods?
What brand are decent and reliable?
Do I need injectors at all?

I hear if you go too big with the injectors your car wouldn't iddle to well and if you go too small (just a bit over the stock) you might regret in the future.

Last but not lest, what size injectors does the EVO has? Don't forget to look at my mods plus ECUTEK and alcohol kit

Thanks!!

Carlos, if you plan on sticking with the stock turbo I would go with some 660cc-680cc injectors. And definitely get a Walbro 255 fuel pump if you haven't yet.

Who is tuning your car, is it Precision or Dynoflash?

The stock injectors are around 550cc.

I agree with the others, that if you are going to stay with the stock turbo (or even a smaller aftermarket turbo), 660cc-750cc injectors will be plenty.

Best of luck.

Stay with stock, I put the 750cc injectors on and could not tune the richness out. I went back to stock and had my ECU XFLashed. No point in putting the larger injectors on without an upgraded turbo, you won't exceed the maximum duty cycle of the 550's until your running something bigger like a 20G or 3071. Even then 750cc should be the max size you'd want for a moderately sized upgraded turbo. There are some people on this forum running 750's on 35series turbos so that should give you a point of reference.

Agreed. A methanol injection kit will lessen the load on the stock injectors somewhat, which you wouldn't be making enough power to overrun anyway.

so.. are you guys saying that after all I might not even need the injectors because of the Alcohol injection kit? that has some logical explanation.

As far is the tuebo upgrade, I am not putting a bigger turbo yet. I heard all kind of good things about the stock turbo.

I am going to get the fuel pump. As far is the tunning, this time it will be Precission Dyno. Not that I am not happy with Dynoflash tuning but now precision Dyno will add the ECUTEK and the alcohol kit plus a more agressive tunning.

We're saying not only that, but you shouldn't need larger injectors at the point where you are anyway.

I agree. I would just put the pump in it and you will have plenty of fuel.
As stated above if you put larger injectors in you will have to remove all the extra fuel which will make tuning the car more difficult from the start.
