The DiaQueen gear oil question. PLEASE HELP!!

I bought the $85 "MR" can gear oil, not seeing the $50 can. Can I use the 85 dollar "MR" fluid in the transfer case? Or should I buy the $50 GL5 LSD gear oil? This to change the transfer case fluid.

In the MRs you are suppossed to only use the "MR" fluid in the 6 speed gearbox.

The other GL5 LSD Diaqueen gearoil can be used on the front and rear differentials for all Evos ... MR, GSR and RS.

It tells you what to use in the owners manual.

I have both the english and chinese Evo manual from Mitsubishi and the English version tells me to use GL-4 and Gl-5. But the Chinese one says to use gl-4 on both transaxle and transfer case

That's a good question.
I can't image the Chinese spec being different for drivetrain fluids.
( but I could be wrong )

However it's pretty typical to use API GL-4 in the Evo 5 Speed transmissions.
i.e. Redline , Syncromesh, BG, etc.

In the MR 6 speed transmissions, I would use nothing but the Mitsubishi
Diaqueen Super Multi Gear Oil. ( If it was my car. )
I see no mention of viscosity for the MR 6 speeds.
Someone please advise if they know for certain.

The front transfer case and rear differentials use API GL-5.
Mitsubishi recommends thier Diaqueen LSD Oil or equivelent.
( This is what I would also use in my own car )
Can also use Mobil 1 GL-5 gear oil.
This applies to all Evos ... RS, GRS and MR.

All LSD oil should work correct? Because the only thing they have for the LSD oil is from Cusco.

Sorry, Not sure what your question is.

Are you saying you can only get oil from Cusco ?

The only oil they have here is Redline Gear oil which is GL-5. All the gear oils they sell here are GL-5. Do you think its ok to use GL-5 for the transaxle and transfer ? For the LSD oil they sell Cusco LSD oil that is GL-5. These are the only two bottles I was thinking to put in the car.

In the front transaxle or transmission, I would really try to get GL-4.

In the front transfercase and rear differential the GL-5 is fine.
