Is your theory that after they go to an upgraded turbo the IX will be virtually identical in output to the VIII? That is reality, not sure what your theory is.
The great advantage of variable valve timing on a car with performance mods is that you can get a much nicer idle with agressive cams than you can on a car without variable valve timing. Ask anyone who has been tuning the WRX STi's for a few years.

Thread closed. PURE whatever is not a vendor on this site and they have no less then 3 accounts posting in here plus previous one that are most likely breaking the duplicate account rules. Multiple accounts per person or organization is reserved for vendors of this site.
