sc61 vs. gt35r

I am running a precision sc61 right now and i am happy with it, but i am considering switching to a gt35r...Can anyone give some advise on the switch...Will it be worth it? Will I even make more power??? Thanks!!

precision is supposed to make the sc61 in ball bearing in the near furture so maybe you should hold out for that. As far as i can tell it will be cheaper then the gt35r also

you should see very little performance increase in power, as the comp wheel is the same, comp housing same, only the turbine wheel would be different.

The BB center should spool slightly faster, but might cause compressor surge in high gears.

A GT35R is basically a dual ball bearing sc61 from my understanding.

I thought that BB turbos don't necessarily equate to faster spool, but instead more consistent lasting spool between shifts.

The correct way to look at it:

The SC61 is just a normal standard T3T4E-Stage 5 turbine wheel turbo, using the compressor wheel from a GT35. To4E compressor housing machined to fir the 35R comp wheel. Standard old style garret bearing housing, old style T3 turbine wheel, Standard T3 turbine housing. The only new style part is the 35r comp wheel.

This is correct, but the turbine wheel is alot bigger on a SC61 then the GT35R turbine wheel. The SC61 will produce more power (due to its bigger turbine wheel) at the expense of spool up. The SC61 is going to be painfully laggy w/o a ball bearing conversion.

I am pretty sure that it is available..garrett makes precision turbos and the ball bearing option is available for t3/t4's check this link http://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1388103
