Hey guys i was wondering if i should get a whole new clutch or just a clutch disk for my car my mods are in my signature. Is there a disk thats better but still uses the stock pressure plate and housing. I dont launch my car EVER so dont worrie.

If you don't launch your car, or abuse it in other ways, then the stock clutch should hold up just fine.

 

yea but not for over 30,000 miles, I have to change it now.

 

What he is saying is replace it with the stock clutch if you dont launch it. The clutch was the weakest link in the tranny to keep from serious damage so replace with stock and save chance of serious damage.

 

If you're looking for a stock *feelng* clutch that will hold the additional power, you can't go wrong with a Exedy Stage 1 or an ACT HDSS. The HDSS will hold more power in the long run - but the Exedy Stage 1 will be a more stock feel and support your mods no problem.

get an ACT or exedy organic kit. or if your tight on cash get an ACT disc. i'm IN NY and i have the disc in stock. let me know

 

if you are paying someone to install the clutch, there is zero point in just changing your disk - do a complete clutch

the Exedy Stage 1 sport would be perfect - its an upgrade from stock, but very easy to drive and very affordable

 

+1 with Adam. I would recommend you to go with a complete Exedy setup like the Organic or Cerametallic. We have had much success with those two and its highly recommended.

The Organic will hold a little bit more than stock with close to stock pedal feel and the stage 2 Cerametallic will grab much better but a little stiffer. Please let me know if you need any how. I will try my best to get you a good deal on it.

Are you serious? With the labor cost to do a clutch job on an evo, i don't think anyone wants to do a half assed job as you suggested here. Also if you think people are tight on cash, they should not be driving an evo. This is the wrong car to skimp on and especially a clutch job.
