well a strait pipe is what it is basicaly called but a test pipe replaces a cat or resinator and has flanges on it and ur exhaust system starting from front to back goes like this:
Ex. manifold, cat, down pipe, cat, center pipe, muffler and yes both are against the law but dont worry about the law lol

LOUD PIPES SAVE LIVES!!!!!

Well, the diff between cat back and turbo back is just where the system starts. You've got to get the exhaust from your engine to the muffler at the back of your car somehow. A turbo (if you have one) is the first thing in line off the engine. So a turbo back exhaust starts there and goes all the way back. A cat back starts at the second cat and works back.

Basically, any part can be replaced along the line, with different states having different ideas of legality. If you're concerned about emissions, you'll be alright so long as you leave both cats, or at least one.

The headers or turbo would replace the first catalytic converter in a US Lancer. The downpipe heads from there to the second primary cat. From there, the center pipe heads back to the muffler and the muffler completes the system.
