Driveline Noise Help

Thought I would see if I could gain some extra insight as I'm at a total loss as to what this noise is. From about 20 mph to 35 mph I'm getting this droaning noise, it's not a whine or metallic and it's definitely not a grinding type noise. Doesn't matter which gear it's in nor does turning left or right seem to effect it. Then above 35 it goes away. I've checked all the CV boots, they check out okay and there's no endplay in the wheel bearings. Any ideas?

Mine does the same thing. The trannys made by Getrag are just noisy. If you take it to a dealer they will say that it is normal. If the noise is really severe you may have problems that are more than just "normal".

Glad to know I'm no the only one. I wouldn't say that it's severe, at least not yet!

Try changing out your tranny fluids. I had the Royal Purple and now I have a Redline cocktail my friend made and the car drives fine and no major "noises" from the tranny. The car is just noisy as hell, generally, but that's something we can't do anything about.

Maybe dynamat helps.

I wish it was fluids.......I changed out the gearbox, t-case and rear diff and it's still there. I used the Redline cocktail for the gearbox of 2 parts Mt-90 and 1 part MTL and diagqueen for the others.

I have a similar noise and I'm told it is normal. I am gonna get my car serviced soon so I'll confirm then too.

Try holding your clutch down a bit longer when shifting (up or down)...you may be the same noise then too like I do.

I change my fluids way more than I need to and it is shifting correctly, but it is wierd.

It's definitely there when I push the clutch in and coast a little. It's sounding more and more like this is normal. Weird but normal.........

You've had the car since new? If so, is this something that just recently occurred?

It started up about three weeks ago so it's fairly recent. I've had the car since new and it just turned over 19,000 miles.
