when its WOT, there is a slight leaking sound coming from it, but the boost gauge doesnt taper really. but i dont know if that is normal.

some people say it needs to be adjusted but the new ones have no adjustment as ive been told.

I dont know if that is what this bov does since it a 2 stage. But when under partial throttle you can hear the pssss sound when it it WOT, it is much quieter but still there.

Check to see if the valve is seated....rev your engine a little and you will see it move

 

get difrent bov I use to have the same exact problem really ****ing anoying,so I got the recirculating greddy type rs and i am more happy with it,better that my hks I do miss the sound tho.Also get the aps or jdm mr bov every one like those cus ofersbetter perphomance

 

You should check the welding.. I bought mine from a reputable dealer and it had a horrid leak. I tried to fix it with JB Weld and never thought of it again... until I removed the tranny again and looked at it... I could actually pull it part way off the pipe with my hands. Mine used to make a whistle/hiss before the JB Weld fix (Which didnt hold anyways).

 

Hmmm. I don't hear any such sound with my SSQV on throttle. But the exhaust sound makes it hard to hear anything subtle. My suggestion is to find out for sure. Do the boost leak testing as described in several past threads here. It's the only way to know for sure if you are leaking.
