i love it and seems like good idea to have wideband a/f monitor...

alky user tip==u dont really need to tune for alky but it will help !
just raise the boost to 25-26psi after installed....it works really good even without tune!
u not gonna blow the enigine .... after tune it feel pretty much same for me~! but i boosted up even more to 28psi... i really recommend this alky kit for everyone....its the best mods for power maker my 2c
no tuning? never heard of that before...If it works wouldnt your power band not be as smooth?

A little bird told me that SMC has a boost cut (fail safe) coming out in the very near future.

I most cases no. Detonation is what is going to kill the motor not lean fuel leading to high EGT's. It will take several seconds for your EGT's to go high enough to hurt anything. If you have a tune that is conservative you should be OK for the small amount of time it will take you to let off the gas. The better built the motor the better it is going to handle detonation, so a stock piston won't last as long as a good forged race piston.

Basically there is going to be a feature that will hook up to your wastegate line. Its going to be connected to a controller that reads psi from your alky kit. When it drops below a certain psi it will activate the controller and cause you to run wastegate boost. This to me sounds like a great safety feature.

With ECU+ you can tell it to pull so much timing and add so much fuel if knock is detected. It might be enough to save you, I'm hoping that he comes out with some sort of knock function as well. Honestly, I would rather have audible knock alarms then visual, or both.

Call me safe, but I would NOT ever boost over 22psi on Cali's 91 octane... even with meth. I'd rather put in the correct race fuel rather than risk my thousand dollar engine to save a couple bux of race gas.

That's not a completely accurate statement.
If you are tuned for alcohol, ie, you lean out your fuel and add timing, it depends how aggressive you are.
If you are running race gas fuel trim with alcohol (12:1 ish afr) AND have max timing AND are boosting high (25psi or more) AND you are running a stand alone EMS (stock ECU will pull timing immediately, when you feel it, get off the boost), and the alcohol kit fails, THEN you MIGHT detonate and cause damage.

I run a basic coolingmist kit (alcohol activates at 17psi. 1/1/2 gal resevior lasts for 3-4 tanks of gas). I boost continually to 28psi on 91 octane (stock ECU).
I've been running it for 10 months with no issues.

In my case, I have a relay that would interrupt the signal to the solenoid causing it to go to wastegate pressure if the fault light came on.. Not every kit has a aux output to use for an indicator lamp (or for the purpose I stated) but thats what I would use.
