Buschur 20G-9 + RnR header/critique

I have a wedding to pay for so now the boss says I'm on a budget. What can ya do! I put my other build plans on hold until after next year as I want to try a different approach to reaching my goals.

I just ordered the Buschur 20G-9 w/upgraded actuator today and last week I ordered the RnR ram horn mani. I think both will make a great combination and produce the power I am looking to achieve. *cross's fingers*

Realistically I won't get the turbo for 3 or more weeks and the manifold for about the same so I won't actually have any results until the beginning of the year after the holidays.

Besides the mods you see in my sig I am also having the Buschur race front mount intercooler, lower pipe, injectors, injection kit(methanol), and HKS DLI 2 installed.

It is my opinion that this combination should *cross's fingers on other hand* get into the 10's with a good driver. Whether or not I can do it, I don't know. That is such a high goal to achieve, but that is my only goal for the time being.

I will post my dyno results and AEM logs from the tuning session after the holidays. Doug at TopSpeed will be doing all the tuning on the car and maybe I can have him jump in afterwards and give his impressions of this combo.

Now everybody cross your fingers!

in my humble opinion, i don't believe that will be sufficient for 10s... i see in your sig you ran a 12.0X w/ a 1.8, w/ a lil better 60 you might be able to get an 11.9X. to hit 10s you'd need at least 100whp gain, which i don't see. Also, just hear-say but i've heard the 20g doesn't respond well, but that's hear-say, anyways, should be interesting to see how the combination responds, keep us posted =D

btw, is that topspeed in atl? i go to school in valdosta but i'm from Cumming

Well, Buschurs old tune with the 20G-8 put down 327ish whp and ran an 11.3 @ 120. Now the new 20G-9 is putting down 338whp on 94 pump. Don't quote me on the exact numbers as I am recalling them from what I remember reading. I think with a good tune on methanol or straight C16 it is very possible. This is just my opinion though. Even if the car makes the power to do it, that doesn't mean that I can make the car do it. We shall see!

your current mods should have you well over 327, is that for real? i've never heard of an 11.3 w/ only 327whp, course wasn't that a mustang dyno :-P But i'm not claiming anything :-) i'm not trying to shoot ya down, i'm pulling for you man :-)

Yes, TopSpeed just outside Atlanta.

My 12.0 was on race gas and 373whp 385trq. With a better 60' that would have been a high 11, but it was my first time to the track and first time driving an AWD car too.

You are correct about the horsepower. That is 100whp more than I have already. I am hoping for around 460-470whp with the 20G-9, ram horn mani, and the rest of mods. With a good 60' I think that will yield a high 10 second run.

Matt, did you read my original post. I just ordered the turbo. I am on the STOCK 03 turbo still. I ran the times in my sig on the STOCK 03 turbo.

I won't have the new turbo for a few weeks. I didn't mean to confuse you. I thought I was very clear.

Thanks! She supports me 100% in doing what I love. Drag racing is only one of the many things I like to do, golf is my first love.

I think you misunderstood what I was saying. Buschurs dyno reads a lot lower than the TopSpeed dyno. My car dynoed 337whp on 93 pump at TopSpeed, but if it was on Buschurs dyno it would make less then 300whp.

Buschurs car making 338whp would be somewhere around 380whp @ TopSpeed. This is purely a guess as I have no data to back that up.

I'm very much in the same boat. I'm very excited to see your results. I wish you luck in reaching your goals. I'm not going to order until spring or summer. I'm following the evo 9 20g thread closely. The only thing different is Dave's RS that went 11.3 had BR stage 3 headwork and short block. I'm even more interested to see the Evo 9 20g results on a slightly less modified car (stock head and shortblock). I still hope to see evo 9 20gs in the low low 11s on alky + pump gas. we shall see.

I think the setup you're building is going to be good for 400ish on a dyno jet with pump gas /alky.

Dunno about 10s though, talk to Curt Brown or something =p

Dang, I was hoping to see your previous build you were gonna do with the fully built stroker motor on a GT35R... oh well, I'm sure this new setup will kick *** anyways.

Hope you're ready for the next Import Showdown 2006. You know I'll be there fighting to keep my title. Best of luck to you on your build... I may end up using the same exact manifold. =]

I think youll be somewhere in the 350-370 range on a mustang... I put down 340 with a leaky BOV and some other boost leaks... I think youll get close to your goal... GOOD LUCK
