ACT Clutch Kit. 2600
*note* A little info for those of us in VA. Direct Performance in VA Beach installed my clutch. Labor cost was $600. They did a real good job and had the car back to me the same day I dropped it off. Their number is 757-340-1862. Rj is the guy that did it.
Initially getting the clutch installed took about 7hrs roughly because the shop had other projects going on as well.
Well when she was finally done it was time to take her out on the street
First thing I noticed was the extra stiffness. It is a good deal stiffer than the stock clutch but not unbearable. You could feel the roughness when engaging the clutch simply because it was brand new. I stalled it 3 times getting used to the new release point. So that was the fun I had during the break-in period. As the miles increased on the clutch, it began to feel a lot smoother and the stiffness was less and less noticeable since I'm getting used to it. Staying under 3600 RPMs between each shift and not slipping the clutch at all were how I broke it in for the most part.
Now 300 miles later the clutch feels AWESOME. No vibration, the stiffness feels "normal" to me. Although I notice it again after driving other cars. So I did a google search on ACT clutch break in period and found that the clutch just needs about 100-200 stop and go traffic driving. So I did 250 just to be safe.
Well today is the first day I got to beat up on the car a lil bit. WHOLY CRAP!!!!
During the 1-2 shift I chirped all 4 tires. This clutch is AWESOME!! During hard driving the clutch just snatches the gears. I love it. And during normal driving it engages like stock. So I recommend this clutch to anyone that wants a nice, strong, streetable clutch.

BTW, it should be a 2900lb pressure plate. They don't sell the 2600 anymore and haven't for years.

The numbers are a Mitsu. thing. We have not used the numbers as product names, but somehow our dealers, etc, caught on to it.
We call our most popular pressure plate, our Heavy Duty pressure plate (I know, not real sexy, but it works) and the stronger unit is called our Xtreme pressure plate. Our pressure plates vary in actual clamp load from application to application. On the DSM, our HD tests 2100lbs while the Xtreme is 2600lbs. On the EVO, our HD tests about 3000-3100lbs of clamping force, but we claim about 2950 when we calculate the torque numbers. Our Xtreme for the EVO tests around 3600lbs. For more information on calculating torque capacity, you can check out the tech section of our website.

so pretty much that means that there is no hd pressure plate anymore because it seems the way they distinguished between the 2 were 2600 and 2900. where is actman haha oops he came in as i was typing
